Grow Local. Brew Local.

Eden Hall Hops is a collaborative project between local farmers, brewers, students, and community members to create an Organic Hops Outreach and Education Program at Chatham University on the Eden Hall campus in Gibsonia, PA.

Currently, we have 11 plants of Chinook, Cascade, Magnum, and Nugget growing in the Eden Hall Organic Student Garden, which were planted in 2013. Graduate Student, Elisa Loeser is designing a 1/4 acre hop yard to feature a wider array of varieties and a taller trellis system that will assist both hop growers and brewers in learning more about the growing conditions and terroir of Western PA.

The Eden Hall Hops team also brewed a 100% local, organic indigenous beer this winter using the Eden Hall hops. Look out for more information on a Release Party for the local beer this summer!
